My interest in Chinese Medicine began, as it does for many acupuncturists, with having acupuncture treatment myself and seeing the great improvement in my health. I have relied on acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine as the mainstay of my own well-being for over 25 years. I practiced Hatha yoga for many years, and now practice the form of Taiqiwuxigong taught by the late Dr Shen Hongxun.
I trained in Traditional Acupuncture and in Chinese Herbal Medicine at the internationally renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, and have also undertaken extensive post-graduate studies. I have practised acupuncture since 1996 and Chinese Herbal medicine since 2003, and have thriving practices in Bristol and Newport. In my acupuncture practice I combine Five Element and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) diagnosis with the gentle needle technique used in Japanese acupuncture.
In my long experience, I have successfully treated a wide range of conditions, both physical and mental-emotional. I have seen repeatedly how effective both acupuncture and herbal medicine can be in treating those conditions which may be ill-defined by conventional diagnosis and therefore poorly managed. I have also treated people of all ages, including children and babies, who often respond quickly to gentle minimal treatment.
